#GivingTuesday is exactly one week away. SMSF needs your help to ensure we can reach our goal of $115,000, the equivalent of one full-time teaching position. Why support SMSF during #GivingTuesday? SMSF is the only community organization that helps fund full-time teaching and counseling positions across all SMUSD schools. This year, our 2020-2021 Annual Campaign goal is to raise $3.6 million for 34 teaching and counseling positions. Our #GivingTuesday goal is to support 1 of those 34 positions.
These positions, which are currently supported by the generous donations from the 2019-2020 Annual and We are San Marino campaigns, are teachers and counselors that work with our students in the classroom every day. We need your support and participation during our #GivingTuesday campaign to keep these teachers in the classroom, preparing our students for successful lives.
Getting involved in our #GivingTuesday: Give to Thank Our Teachers Campaign is very simple:
Give through our Facebook #GivingTuesday campaign. During #GivingTuesday, Facebook is matching $7 million given to non-profits. The first $5 million will be matched at 100%, and the rest, up to $7 million, will be matched 10%. In addition to the match, all donations given through Facebook will also have zero transaction fees. That means 100% of your donation will go directly to SMSF in support of our teachers. The Facebook campaign link will be available on Monday, November 30th.
Donate and participate through our #GivingTuesday specific website. In addition to giving through our website, you can also track progress of how much has been raised so far, as well as fundraise on behalf of SMSF throughout the day! By also donating to our website, you can give to a specific fundraiser/team page to show your support. Our #GivingTuesday website link will be sent in the following days with further instructions on how to get involved.
Donate over the phone or by dropping off a check. During this year’s #GivingTuesday, please feel free to call our office at 626-299-7014 and donate over the phone or by dropping off a check at our office located at 1665 West Drive in San Marino.
