Today is the day! #GivingTuesday is officially upon us.
#GivingTuesday was created in 2012 as a simple idea: a day that encourages people to do good. Over the past nine years, this idea has grown into a global movement that inspires hundreds of millions of people to give, collaborate, and celebrate generosity.
Our San Marino community can come together and celebrate generosity by giving to SMSF’s Give Today for Their Tomorrow Campaign. Last year, SMSF’s Give to Thank Our Teachers Campaign during #GivingTuesday2020 raised $70,000 due to the generosity and participation of our community members, parents, teachers, and students. This year, we are asking you to help again.
Our goal for this year’s #GivingTuesday is $100,000, or the approximate equivalent of one full-time teaching position. To do this, we need our community to come together - to give to and participate in our Give Today for Their Tomorrow Campaign. Generosity is contagious – all it takes is one person. Will that person be you?
There are many ways to participate and support SMSF during today’s #GivingTuesday.
- Visit our #GivingTuesday specific website and give, follow progress, and even create your own fundraising team. If you are interested in creating your own fundraising team, please reach out to Kathryn Oliveros, Development Assistant, who will email you an invitation with instructions.
- Give through our Facebook campaign page. When giving through Facebook, there are NO transaction fees. This means 100% of your donation goes back to SMSF and our students.
- Rally your friends and family to give to SMSF. You have a story to tell, and a reason why supporting SMSF is important to you and your family – share that with your friends and family and encourage them to give as well!
- Donate through other means. If visiting our #GivingTuesday page or giving through our Facebook campaign page isn’t an option for you, that is okay! You may also give to our #GivingTuesday Give Today for Their Tomorrow Campaign by dropping off a check to our SMSF office located at 1665 West Drive, donating through our main SMSF website, or calling our office at 626-299-7014 and donating over the phone.
Whichever way you decide to support SMSF during today’s #GivingTuesday – thank you. Your participation and support positively impact the lives of our students, teachers, families, and community members.
